The Whole Child Center is committed to the National Environmental Education Foundation's (NEEF) "Children and Nature" Initiative to reconnect children and families with nature to benefit their health. We believe that the health benefits of time spent in natural settings are not just intuitive but also supported by scientific research.

Free play outdoors is a true mind-body-spirit therapy representative of core integrative medicine principles. We are delighted to partner with the Tenafly Nature Center for the pilot phase of our "Rx Nature" program, using the NEEF model. Additionally, we are working with teachers at the Willard Elementary School in Ridgewood, NJ dedicated to sharing these principles with their students. In time, we hope to develop partnerships with other nature centers, health care practitioners and educators to spread this program across Bergen County.
